A Senate committee approved an amendment to a House Bill that would make early voting last for 16 days instead of 28.
The change would take effect upon the bill's passage, setting up voters for a shorter early voting window during the primary election season this May.
The amendment, if formally approved, would go into effect for the upcoming primary on May 5.
