Angelman syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that primarily affects the nervous system. It is caused by a mutation or deletion of genes on chromosome 15. It occurs in around 1 out of every 15,000 live births. Many doctors and nurses have never heard of this Syndrome and it is often misdiagnosed with Autism or cerebral palsy.
