The Counterclockwise Circle Dance

Tanoura is a traditional national dance in Egypt. Its peculiarity is that only men perform the dance. The etymology of the word has Arabic roots and is translated as a skirt. The basis of the dance is a circling artist around its axis, necessarily counterclockwise.Tanoura dancers dress a range of brightly colored costumes and skirts, but more significantly, the hues of the skirts they don can change from one location to another, depending on the locale, the style of show, and the planners’ prefe
