Through the collaboration and support of the Fire Foundation, we were able to purchase 237 FLIR K65 Thermal Imaging Cameras. These cameras will enhance firefighter safety, improve search and rescue operations, and increase our effectiveness on the fireground. While this morning’s explosion at LASD's East LA training facility remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and Los Angeles County Fire, LAFD is providing support as requested. Our Arson Section, in coordination with the ATF, is actively assisting in the investigation to determine the cause of the explosion. Our hearts are with the loved ones of the fallen deputies, and we stand in solidarity with our partners in law enforcement during this difficult time. #lafd
