The Precision Matthews lathe always impresses me with is accuracy, smoothness, rigidity and quietness. While it may not handle 1/2” passes like the big lathe, it’s definitely proven to be a work horse. I’m taking .200” per pass at a .011” ipr feed rate and spinning at 620 rpm’s through 4140. Great looking chips coming off the tool just the way I like em. I’m making progress on the new wood lathe spindle.
