The City of Eugene’s Park Safety Team was recognized by the Oregon Recreation and Parks Association in 2025 for their compassionate and innovative approach to keeping parks safe and clean. This cross-departmental team, comprised of Parks maintenance staff, Eugene Police officers and Park Ambassadors, actively monitor activity in Eugene parks using GIS mapping to identify and address issues.
