Trainees coming through Basic Training, or One Station Unit Training, are exposed to the Engagement Skills Trainer (EST), which is designed to simulate live weapon training events that directly support individual weapon qualification. Throughout their time in Basic, Trainees receive 16 program of instruction hours solely focused on the EST and exposing Trainees to their weapons.
