Wisconsin landmarks to light up purple for Crime Victims’ Rights Week, Marsy’s Law anniversary

As a child, Redge was the victim of a shooting that left his legs paralyzed. After the incident, Redge and his family were not informed of proceedings or the release of the perpetrator. “He was still in my community. Kimya Motley, a Marsy’s Law for Georgia advisory committee member, believes there is still work to be done to provide justice for crime victims. In support of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (#NCVRW), Kimya and other supporters of the Marsy’s Law legislation were featured in the “Purple Light” video encouraging other supporters to shine a purple light in their homes and buildings and to remind us about the importance of crime victims’ rights.
