This maekawa mutual exclusion algorithm is a quorum-based or subset-based approach. . This approach is also called as a permission-based approach or non-timestamped approach . In this approach, if a process wants to enter into a CS ( critical section), then it should get permission only from its quorum( subset) , not from other groups.
